"It is the emotional involvement of the artist with the drawing that enlivens it with the character and feeling essential to a convincing and engaging portrayal of the subject."

Cliff Minor R.A.
Illustrator

Since first being involved with the production of fine illustration work, the fascination with the art of producing architectural illustration has never gone away.  Every commission is a new challenge to explore the knowledge and application of the techniques and materials used together with accurate perspective and intelligent composition to arrive at a satisfying portrayal of the architectural subject in its context.

The focus has always been on traditional rendering methods and materials, digital rendering is not provided by this studio.  Working with your drawings, sketches, or photographs the views are developed and executed with these methods.  Each work is a collaboration of the architect and illustrator to express the design intent to its truest possibilities, while drawing upon that fascination with illustration to arrive at an involving and convincing image.  The emotional involvement is evident in the sensitivity of each work whether full formal rendering, vignette, or sketch.

The examples in this portfolio show some part of the body of work produced in over 30 years of architectural rendering.  Some are very recent and some not so recent, and taken collectively they indicate a striving for consistency of quality through constant personal involvement and commitment to the development of art of architectural illustration.

Thanks is here expressed to the illustrators I have had the privilege to work with in the past, particularly those who introduced me to the field, for their willingness to share their experience and knowledge and for the continuing inspiration of their work and work ethic; and to the community of architectural illustrators at large who have always motivated me with the quality of their work.  Thanks also to my clients for the rewarding relationships we have shared over the years.
